Rainy weekend for West Texas

Meteorologist Britton Musall has your Monday night forecast.

TEXAS, USA — It has been a great start to the week weather-wise, and it looks like our nice weather will continue for West Central Texas.

Tuesday we will start to warm-up, but we'll also keep the clouds around. The clouds are sticking around thanks to the rex block. The rex block occurs when there is a strong high pressure system next to a strong low pressure. The two are sticking together kind of like clock gears, and that's why our cloudy weather is sticking around.

The low pressure will eventually move in our direction, and that's why there is a marginal (1/5) risk for severe weather Wednesday. We'll be dry most of the day Wednesday, but the storms will fire late Wednesday night and some of them could produce large hail and gusty winds.

Again, the chance does not look very high, but it is something to keep an eye on. Tuesday is the first day of spring, and we are looking to have some overall pleasant weather in West Central Texas.
