ABILENE, Texas — Have you purchased a preneed policy for funeral services from Abilene Funeral Home? If you have, the Abilene Police Department is asking that you check it to make sure it's an active policy.

According to the APD, on June 5, Abilene Funeral Home funeral director, Richard Fuqua, 53, was arrested for third-degree state jail felony theft of elderly. He was accused of stealing money from a client who had paid for prepaid funeral services. The client was not refunded money owed to them by Fuqua. He has since bonded out of jail, the APD said.

Crimes Against Property Unit detectives say if you check and your policy is not active, and you would like to file a report, contact the Abilene Police Departments' non-emergency number at 325-673-8331.
