Angelo State hosts third annual ASCE Symposium

SAN ANGELO, Texas — The Angelo State University student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is hosting its third annual ASCE Region 6 Student Symposium Wednesday-Saturday.

The event will take place at the Junell Center/Stephens Arena, 2235 S. Jackson St., and at Mary E. Lee Park, 2160 Mary E. Lee Road by Lake Nasworthy.

More than 500 engineering students from universities across Texas, Mexico, New Mexico and Oklahoma will be in attendance, as well as numerous professional engineers from across the region.

The ASCE Student Symposium combines a variety of student competitions like concrete canoe, concrete bowling, sand castle and steel bridge competitions, a career fair and continuing education seminars.

The beach area at Mary E. Lee Park by Lake Nasworthy will be closed to the public Saturday for the event.
