DESOTO, Texas — DeSoto police say they recovered 13 guns, various power tools, and a compressor allegedly stolen by a former property and evidence clerk with the department.

Police say they searched the Frost, Texas home of Carl Edmison Thursday after they received a tip that Edmison allegedly had items taken from the DeSoto Police Property and Evidence Room over an extended period of time.

“Detectives then began an investigation and secured the warrant that was successfully executed Thursday,” police said in a news release.

Edmison was charged with 13 counts of theft of a firearm, a felony, according to police.

He is said to be cooperating with detectives and the investigation is ongoing.
