Abilene-Taylor Co. Public Health District confirms 289th COVID-19-related death Sunday

The health district reported 26 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and 47 recoveries.

ABILENE, Taylor County — The Abilene-Taylor County Health District confirmed the 289th COVID-19-related death - a man in his 80s - in Taylor County Sunday.

The health district reported 26 new confirmed COVID-19 cases - seven PCR and 19 antigen.

Forty-seven recoveries were also reported, bringing the total number of recoveries to 12,677.

There were 47 hospitalizations included in the report. 

According to a release from the City, hospitalization details for Saturday, Feb. 6 and Sunday, Feb. 7 were not available at the time of the release.

As of Feb. 7, Taylor County has administered 50,835 PCR and 70,800 antigen tests. Of those tests, 6,817 PCR and 7,917antigen tests were confirmed cases.

Additionally, there were 44,018 negative PCR and 62,883 negative antigen test results were reported.
