SAN ANGELO, Texas — A 31-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash in Abilene on Thursday, according to a post from the Abilene Police Department.
James Rowdy Stone from Clyde was on a motorcycle in north Abilene and was being pursued by an unmarked Law Enforcement vehicle on I-20. APD Rick Tomlin said at some point the vehicle stopped pursuit and headed north bound on Grape Street.
The motorcycle attempted to pass a pickup truck that was turning on Jameson St., but collided with the truck instead sending Stone onto the pavement.
Dispatch received a call of a crash at 4:23 p.m. Stone was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is ongoing.
