Driver in deadly 2021 Runnels County collision sentenced to 15 years in prison

RUNNELS COUNTY, Texas — The driver in a fatal 2021 Runnels County crash has been sentenced to 15 years in prison, according to the Runnels County Clerk's office.

Marisa B. Ramos, Cissy L. Ramos and 7-year-old Adalynn R. Muniz, all of Plainview, were killed in the June 13, 2021, crash on State Hwy 153. Two children who were also passengers in Marisa Ramos' vehicle were injured in the crash.

Francisco Javier Galvan Trevino was indicted in 2021 on three counts of intoxication manslaughter with vehicle as a deadly weapon and two counts of intoxication assault.

On Thursday, Runnels County District Clerk Tammy Burleson said Galvan was sentenced to 15 years on the three intoxication manslaughter charges, to run concurrently. For the final two charges, intoxication assault, he was sentenced to 10 years to run concurrently. In total, the sentence was 15 years in prison with eligibility for parole halfway through the sentence.

Burleson said she expects him to be detained in the Taylor County Jail until paperwork is filed, and she is unsure of which prison facility he will be sent to after the paperwork is complete.

An online report on Tejano Nation, says Trevino is known in the Tejano music scene as Javier Galvan, a former member of the musical group, Fama. The publication reports he left the group in 2009 to pursue a "calling" to be a minister.
