SHACKELFORD COUNTY, Texas — A man died in a collision along State Highway 6, about six miles south of Albany.
According to a Texas Department of Public Safety press release, the crash happened when a northbound Ford SUV veered into the oncoming lane and struck a semi-tractor.
The driver of the SUV, Stephen Otho Sanders, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, which overturned and caught fire east of the roadway.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene.
The semi-tractor also caught fire, but the driver, Rangel Jorge Ramirez, 37, of Houston, did not sustain life-threatening injuries.
