Arrest made in murder of man found in a trash can, according to San Antonio police

Police say there is evidence of Bray at the crime scene.

SAN ANTONIO — According to San Antonio Police, an arrest has been made in the murder of a man who was stuffed in a trash can earlier this month.

An arrest affidavit says, 34-year-old, Lance Bray told someone he killed a 43-year-old man on Dec. 8 in San Antonio and placed his body in a trash can. The body found was identified as Eric Garcia.

Police say there is evidence of Bray at the crime scene.

Investigators say that person told a friend about the deadly confession and Bray broke into a hotel room where the two were staying and verbally confirmed the murder and the location.  He reportedly told one of the witnesses "you know what happens to snitches."

Officers responded to that hotel for a disturbance involving Bray and the witnesses but they say no one mentioned the murder until recently.

Death investigators say Garcia died from asphyxia and police have not said where the body was found.

Bray is now facing a murder charge and being held on a $250,000 bond.
