Veteran Stand Down for Concho Valley veterans set for March 12 at CVT annex

The VA said its aim is to ensure every veteran in the San Angelo area has access to the support and services they deserve.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — A significant initiative aimed at supporting San Angelo-area veterans, hosted by the West Texas VA Health Care System is planned for Tuesday, March 12.

From 5-7 p.m., a Veteran Stand Down event will be held at the Concho Valley Transit annex, 510 N. Chadbourne St. The stand down is in collaboration with community partners including the San Angelo Elks Lodge #1880, Disabled American Veterans, Texas Veterans Commission, Military Veteran Peer Network and other organizations.

During the event, many resources will be made available to veterans, spanning crucial areas such as VA benefits assistance, access to VA health care resources, emergency financial aid, food assistance, housing solutions and more. The VA said its aim is to ensure every veteran in the San Angelo area has access to the support and services they deserve.
