SAN ANGELO, Texas — A San Angelo man has been arrested and charged for multiple offenses after police caught him breaking into a storage unit on the north side of town.

The San Angelo Police Department said officers were dispatched to Freedom Self Storage, 910 W. 29th St., in reference to a burglary of a building in progress. They found a man, later identified as Colby Davis, 39, actively burglarizing a storage unit.

Officers detained Davis and learned approximately nine storage units had been tampered with/burglarized during this particular incident.

SAPD Criminal Investigations Division units went to the scene and ultimately took Davis into custody for his city/county warrants, criminal trespass, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana <2oz.

Detectives are still trying to find the owners of the burglarized/tampered units and the SAPD said additional charges may be forthcoming.
