SAN ANGELO, Texas — Vexus Fiber announced Monday its 100% fiber-to-the-home network is now available to thousands of homes in San Angelo.

Before the end of the year, Vexus is looking to bring service to more than 10,000 homes in the San Angelo region.

"After several months of construction, we’re extremely excited to announce that our first set of homes in San Angelo are now eligible for our 100% fiber-optic network service,” Bill Flowers, Vexus West Texas Regional Vice President, said in a release from the company. “Residents of the San Angelo community now have a new choice for internet. Our future-proof technology provides the citizens of San Angelo with reliable, fast, multi-gigabit speeds for all their bandwidth needs.”

The company said it plans to open a San Angelo store in the coming months to better serve customers locally. Vexus has a 24/7 Texas-based call center focused on outstanding customer experience and service.

“Demands on bandwidth are high in homes today. Activities such as working from home, online learning and multiple video streams mean residents need a network that delivers lightning-fast upload and download speeds,” Flowers said. “Our construction teams continue to work in the area, and we look forward to adding thousands of homes over the next few months.”

Vexus Fiber currently operates fiber-to-the-home networks in Lubbock, Amarillo, Wichita Falls, Abilene and surrounding areas in Texas, as well as in Louisiana. The company is also building new networks in the Rio Grande Valley, Laredo, Tyler, Nacogdoches and Huntsville; Louisiana and New Mexico.

Vexus also participates in the federal Affordable Connectivity Program, which provides eligible households a benefit of up to $30 a month or $75 a month on qualifying tribal lands to reduce the cost of broadband service. Internet speeds start at 150/150 Mbps for as low as $0 for qualifying households.
