Kroger shares New Year's Eve mocktail ideas

INDIANAPOLIS — Looking for a family-friendly way to ring in the new year? 

Eric Halvorson with Kroger joined 13Sunrise to share some mocktail recipes everyone can toast to when the clock strikes midnight. 

Here's a list with ingredients and directions for each drink:

Berry bramble mocktail

  • Ingredients:
    • 1⁄2 cup fresh blackberries
    • 1⁄4 cup Honey
    • 2⁄3 cup Lemonade
    • 1 bottle Ginger Ale
  • Directions:
    • Muddle blackberries and honey in a cocktail shaker. Add in lemonade and one cup of ice.
    • Shake vigorously. Strain into a glass and top with ginger ale.

Blackberry lemonade mocktail

  • Ingredients:
    • 1⁄2 cup blackberries, plus more for garnish
    • 1⁄4 cup sugar
    • 1 cup water
    • 1 cup lemonade
    • Ice
    • Sparkling water
    • Lemon, for garnish
  • Directions:
    • In a small saucepan, add blackberries, sugar and water. Bring to a simmer and mash blackberries. Cook for about 10 minutes, then strain and refrigerate until cooled.
    • Stir lemonade into blackberry simple syrup.
    • Place ice in four glasses, then top with lemonade mixture. Top with sparkling water and garnish with blackberries and lemon. Serve and refrigerate leftovers.

Ginger-pom mocktail

  • Ingredients:
    • 1⁄2 lime, cut into wedges, plus more wedges for optional garnish
    • 1⁄4 cup pomegranate juice, plus arils for optional garnish
    • Fresh mint leaves, plus more for optional garnish
    • Ice
    • 1 cup ginger ale or kombucha
  • Directions:
    • Place lime wedges and pomegranate juice in glass. Use spoon to gently press juice out of limes and mix.
    • Clap mint leaves together in your hands to release scent; add to glass. Press mint gently with spoon to muddle.
    • Add ice, then fill glass with ginger ale or kombucha. Stir well.
    • Garnish with pomegranate arils, mint and additional lime, if desired. Serve, refrigerating any leftovers.

Island Bellini mocktail

  • Ingredients:
    • 6 oz. Sparkling Ice® Coconut Pineapple
    • 2 oz. peach puree
    • 1 oz. lime juice
    • Mint (optional garnish)
    • Lime (optional garnish)
    • Pineapple (optional garnish)
  • Directions:
    • In a cocktail shaker, add peach puree, ice, Sparkling Ice Coconut Pineapple and lime juice.
    • Stir until shaker is frosted.
    • Fill a tall glass with crushed ice and pour shaker contents into the glass.
    • Garnish with a fresh mint sprig, a lime wheel and fresh pineapple.

Strawberry Daquiri mocktail

  • Ingredients:
    • 2 cups frozen strawberries
    • 1⁄4 cup simple syrup
    • 2 tbsp. lime juice
    • 1 cup lemon lime soda
    • 3⁄4 cup water
    • 1 cup ice
    • Limes, to garnish
    • Strawberries, to garnish
  • Directions:
    • In a blender, add strawberries, simple syrup, lime juice, lemon lime soda, water and ice. Blend until smooth.
    • Serve with limes and strawberries to garnish. Refrigerate leftovers.
