CISCO, Texas — A Brownwood man was arrested Saturday after leading law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase through Cisco.

According to the Cisco Police Department, on Saturday, Jan. 16, CPD Officer Nicole Butler received a call of a reckless driver entering the city limits on Hwy 183S.

The vehicle was found and the driver led officers on a high-speed chase through the area. It eventually came to a stop when it crashed into the side of a local doughnut shop, the release said.

Cisco Police Officer Clint Hauck and Sgt. Lee Risdon arrived to help Butler take the suspect, identified as Matthew Dylan Power, of Brownwood, into custody. The vehicle Power was driving was damaged extensively; however, there was no damage to the business.

Officers from the Eastland Police Department, Eastland Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety assisted in the pursuit and arrest.

Power was charged with felony evading arrest; driving while intoxicated; and possession of marijuana over 4 ounces. He was treated by EMS at the scene and cleared to be detained.
