TAYLOR COUNTY, Texas — A Merkel man was killed in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday morning on Interstate 20, 1.4 miles east of Trent.
According to a Texas Department of Public Safety preliminary crash report, a pickup truck, driven by Kelley Rasberry of Trent, was traveling east on the IH-20 service road, while a car driven by Virgil P. Warren of Merkel was traveling west.
Rasberry tried to merge on to the IH-20 entrance ramp, while Warren continued west on the service road. Both drivers veered south, then collided.
The report said Rasberry was taken to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, where she was treated and released. Warren died at the scene.
No further information was available in the report. The crash remains under DPS investigation.
