CALLAHAN COUNTY, Texas — A 57-year-old Clyde man was killed in a crash Sunday evening, on FM 603, 5.5 miles southwest of Clyde in Callahan County.
According to a preliminary crash report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2001 Ford pickup truck, driven by George F. Walker, 82, of Clyde was traveling south on FM 603, on the improved shoulder.
A 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Phillip W. Elkins, 57, of Clyde, was also traveling south.
The report said Elkins moved into the northbound lanes to pass the pickup truck when Walker turned left towards a private drive and struck the motorcycle.
Walker was not injured in the crash. Elkins was pronounced dead at Hendrick Medical Center North in Abilene.
