San Angelo's Long*Horn Coffee Co. wins 2022 Veteran Owned Small Business of the Year Award

The U.S. Small Business Administration San Antonio District Office and Texas South-West SBDC Network will honor the district 2022 Small Business Week winners May 5.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — San Angelo's Long*Horn Coffee Co. has been named the winner of the 2002 Veteran Owned Small Business of the Year award by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) San Antonio District Office, the SBA announced Thursday.

The SBA San Antonio District Office and the Texas South-West SBDC Network will honor district 2022 Small Business Week winners at a special awards ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 5, at the Norris Conference Center in San Antonio.

Each year since 1963, the President of the United States has declared National Small Business Week to formally recognize America's small businesses' important role and contributions, a release from the SBA said.

National and local events recognize top entrepreneurs for their achievements, including individuals and organizations who champion small businesses. Special recognition is also given to SBA resource partners and community organizations for their outstanding efforts in business and entrepreneurial development.

Angelo State University's Small Business Development Center Director Dave Erickson said, “Good morning, Congratulations to Scott and Laurie Deckers for winning the 2022 Veteran Owned Small Business of the Year for the San Antonio SBA District which encompasses 55 counties and includes the cities of Austin, San Antonio, and Laredo! As SBDC clients, the Deckers were nominated by the SBDC and SBDC student assistant Elisabeth Dantzler put together the nomination package with the Deckers. Thank you Elisabeth!”

District Director Mary Hernandez announced the San Antonio District Office 2022 Small Business Week award winners Thursday.
