ELDORADO, Texas — Schleicher County Independent School District is the next in a line of West Texas districts to cancel classes and close campuses because of excessive illnesses among staff and students.
The SCISD said it will cancel classes Friday, Feb. 2, because of an "exceptionally high absences of students and staff due to illness, and a shortage of substitutes."
During the closure, all classrooms and facilities will be cleaned and sanitized.
School will resume on the regular schedule Monday, Feb. 5.
The district said all extracurricular activities scheduled Friday and Saturday will continue as scheduled.
