San Angelo Police arrest burglary suspect

According to SAPD, the suspect was connected to at least two vehicle burglaries that had recently been reported.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — On Saturday at approximately 2 a.m. San Angelo Police officers made contact with a male subject walking in the 3100 block of Sherwood Way. Officers identified the male as Gabriel Lopez, 21, and learned that he had multiple warrants for his arrest.

According to an SAPD press release, Lopez was taken into custody for his warrants and it was learned that he matched the description of a suspect who was caught on a video surveillance system committing vehicle burglaries throughout town.

SAPD’s Criminal Investigation Division conducted their investigation and were able to connect Lopez to at least two vehicle burglaries that had recently been reported.

Lopez was additionally charged with two counts of burglary of a motor vehicle and is currently in Tom Green County Jail.

This arrest was made in conjunction with SAPD’s Criminal Investigation Division, Intelligence Division, and Patrol Division.
