ABILENE, Texas — Speak with any law enforcement officer and you're likely to hear stories about some of the unusual and interesting things they encounter while on duty.
In Abilene, one officer taking a lunch break probably didn't expect an encounter with a marsupial at a fast food joint.
The Abilene Police Department posted a photo on social media showing one of its officers holding a small kangaroo, wrapped in a small blanket.
"You never know what you will run into while working the graveyard shifts. A great thing about police work is doing something different every day. Officer Yargus had an interesting encounter during a recent late-night dinner break," the post said.
