Fire damages Abilene residence, cost not yet determined

The fire started at approximately 11:39 a.m. on the 600 block of Butternut Street and crews are currently still on scene.

ABILENE, Texas — An Abilene residence caught fire Oct. 22 and damages are still unknown. 

According to the Abilene Fire Department, the fire began at approximately 11:39 a.m. on the 600 block of Butternut Street. 

Crews responded to the scene of a two-story structure completely in flames, and 16 off duty workers were asked to help with a defensive attack.

Currently, AFD is still on scene.
