EASTLAND COUNTY, Texas — A California man died Friday night when the semi-truck and trailer he was driving crashed and caught fire.

According to a Texas Department of Public Safety preliminary crash report, the crash happened at 10:30 p.m. Friday on Interstate 20, about .25 miles south of Eastland.

The report states Reginald Van Wilson, 67, of Fresno, California, was traveling west on I-20, in a semi-truck towing a trailer in the left lane of traffic. Wilson drove off the south side of the interstate and hit a guardrail, causing his truck and trailer to catch fire.

Wilson then drove across the center median into the eastbound lane and hit a concrete barrier blocking both eastbound lanes of the interstate.

DPS said Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace John Glenn.
