SAN ANGELO, Texas — Two vehicles received significant damage from a crash Thursday afternoon in north San Angelo.

A Chevrolet Camaro and a Honda Civic collided at the intersection of East 24th and Pecan streets, both coming to a stop on a curb in a yard.

San Angelo Police Department Officer L. Kvittem said the Camaro was traveling west in East 24th and the Civic was traveling south on Pecan Street.

"The white Chevy Camaro failed to yield the right-of-way from the stop sign and collided with the red Honda Civic," Kvittem said. "There was only one occupant per vehicle."

Both drivers received minor injuries, but the female driver of the Camaro was taken to Shannon Medical Center for further evaluation.

"Nothing life-threatening. She'll be released here shortly," he said.

The Camaro driver was ticketed for failure to yield the right-of-way from the stop sign.

San Angelo Police and Fire departments are working to clear a wreck at the intersection of Pecan and East 24th Street. Drivers should avoid the area.
