Tom Green County Sheriff's Office field operation leads to felony arrest

A firearm and more than 30 grams of suspected methamphetamine were seized.

The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation, Patrol and Warrants divisions conducted a field operation in Tom Green Count on Tuesday, Mar. 16 resulting in the execution of three felony warrants. Three new felony charges and one misdemeanor charge were filed.

According to a TGCSO press release, a firearm and more than 30 grams of suspected methamphetamines were seized.

Randy Sutton, 29, of San Angelo and Mario Dehoyos, 32, of Carlsbad were charged and taken to Tom Green County Jail without incident, according to the release.

Sutton was charged with:

  • Unlawful possession of a firearm by felon
  • Possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal to or less than 200 grams
  • Unauthorized use of a vehicle.
  • Evading arrest detention with previous conviction 

Dehoyos was charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 greater than or equal to one gram less than four grams
  • Possession of marijuana less than two ounces
  • Possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than one gram

This is an ongoing investigation and more arrests may be forthcoming.
