Fatal morning crash near NAPA Auto disrupts traffic

San Angelo, TX — UPDATE:

One person is dead Tuesday morning after a major vehicle crash in western San Angelo. In a press conference, San Angelo Police confirm that a black pickup truck was traveling westbound on Avenue N at a high rate of speed.

Around 3:04 Tuesday morning, a truck approached the intersection when the vehicle lost control and then collided with a NAPA business sign located at 3201 Arden Road. The force of that collision caused the truck to crash into several NAPA trucks parked in the business parking lot.

Public Information Officer, Tracy Gonzalez, says the driver is a 17-year-old male from San Angelo that was confirmed deceased by JP Warner. The SAPD Criminal Investigation Division is continuing to assist traffic as law enforcement investigates.

SAPD advises the public to steer clear of the intersection. Traffic is being diverted for at least another three to four hours.
