Taylor Co. COVID-19-related deaths rise to 204 Friday

Forty-three new confirmed COVID-19 cases and 126 total hospitalizations were included in the report.

ABILENE, Taylor County — The Abilene-Taylor County Health District confirmed the 204th COVID-19-related death in Taylor County Friday.

The patient was a man in his 90s. No further information about the patient was available at the time of the release.

The health district reported 43 new confirmed COVID-19 cases - 14 PCR and 29 antigen.

There were also 103 recoveries reported.

One-hundred-twenty-six total hospitalizations were included in the report.

As of Jan. 1, Taylor County has administered 41,219 PCR and 53,635  antigen tests, of which, 5,037 PCR and 6,192 antigen tests were confirmed cases.

There were also 36,182 negative PCR and 47,4443 negative antigen test results reported.

The health district also said there would be no daily postings until Jan. 3 when data over the holiday break will be processed and posted.
