ASU SBDC announces winners of 2023 San Angelo Business Plan Competition

Three San Angelo businesses received grants worth thousands after winning the competition. First place Ascend Contractor Solutions, LLC. won a $40,000 prize.

SAN ANGELO, Texas —

Three San Angelo businesses received grants worth up to $40,000 as winners of the 2023 San Angelo Business Plan Competition, Angelo State University Small Business Development Center announced Tuesday.  

First place winner Ascend Contractor Solutions, LLC., owned by Heath and Ashlee Miller, received $40,000. Second place Wilde Engineering and Surveying, LLC, owned by Erica and Blake Wilde, received $20,000. Bubba D’s Barbecue, LLC., the third place winner owned by Austin Dillard, received $10,000.  

The City of San Angelo Development Corporation, ASU Norris-Vincent College of Business and ASU SBDC organized this year’s contest. Judges chose the three winners after two phases of competition.
