Operation Game Thief offers reward for illegally-dumped catfish

There's a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest.

ABILENE, Texas — According to a social media post from Operation Game Thief, there is a reward for any information that could lead to the arrest of the individual(s) who dumped more than a dozen of catfish at Lake Kirby.

The incident took place Thursday, July 11, and violates the law of keeping game fish in edible condition.

OGT is the Crimestoppers program for game wardens and they are dedicated to stopping poachers, as well as anyone involved in illegal activity in Texas or on Texas waters.

'When they were just thrown to rot and waste it really upset a lot of folks, and we are working hard trying to find who is responsible for that," game warden James Cummings said.
