SAPD Street Crimes Unit busts man with meth, warrants

Members of the San Angelo Police Department's Street Crimes Division executed a search and arrest warrant Friday at a residence in the unit block of West 31st Street.

SAN ANGELO — Members of the San Angelo Police Department’s Street Crimes Division executed a search and arrest warrant Friday at a residence in the unit block of West 31st Street.

The warrant, issued by Justice of the Peace Susan Werner, named James Howell, 37, to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine at the residence. The search resulted in investigators finding and seizing a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and narcotics distribution paraphernalia, according to a press release from the department.

Howell was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail for state jail felony possession of controlled substance Penalty Group 1 and two county warrants.

The SAPD’s Patrol Division and the Center for Tactical Medicine assisted with Friday’s operation.
