NWS reports EF-0 tornado hits Fisher County Monday afternoon

The survey reports that the tornado had peak winds of 85 MPH that tore a metal roof of a home and carried it for 170 yards

SYLVESTER, Texas — The National Weather Service in Abilene/San Angelo reports that an EF-0 tornado with peak winds of 85 mph, touched down southeast of Sylvester, Texas, in Fisher County. 

In a survey report released Tuesday afternoon, meteorologists say the tornado ripped part of the metal roof and awning from a home. 

The reported tornado is also believed to have carried the metal debris for 170 yards, breaking tree limbs as it moved.

Radar estimates that the tornado started at 4:34 p.m. CDT and ended 3.6 miles southeast of Sylvester around 4:36 p.m. CDT.
