Taylor Co. COVID-19-related deaths surpass 300 Thursday

The Abilene-Taylor County Public Health District confirmed eight additional COVID-19-related deaths, as well as 34 new confirmed COVID-19 cases.

ABILENE, Taylor County — The Abilene-Taylor County Health District reported eight additional COVID-19-related deaths in Taylor County Thursday afternoon.

This brings the total number of COVID-19-related deaths in Taylor County to 303.

According to the health district, the patients were a woman in her 90s, a man in his 70s, a woman in her 60s, a man in his 40s, three women in their 80s and a man in his 60s.

No further information about the patients was available at the time of the release.

The health district reported 34 new confirmed COVID-19 cases -11 PCR and 23 antigen.

There were 97 recoveries were also reported, bringing the total number of recoveries to 13,042

Thirty-seven hospitalizations were included in the report.

Taylor County has administered 50,945 PCR and 72,388 antigen tests, of which, 6,836 PCR and 7,973 antigen tests were confirmed cases.

Additionally, 44,109 negative PCR and 64,415 negative antigen test results were reported.
