SAN ANGELO, Texas — Discover San Angelo announced Tuesday it has received two Texas Travel Awards spotlighting the destination's dedication to exceptional visitor experiences and rich cultural offerings.
The Texas Travel Awards, which celebrate top travel destinations and attractions across the Lone Star State, recognized Discover San Angelo for its contributions to the travel industry.
Receiving the award for "Best Visitor Center" in Texas, is a testament to the exceptional service and hospitality provided by the Discover San Angelo team, a release from Discover San Angelo said. Intended as a welcoming gateway to the city, the visitor center serves as a valuable resource, offering personalized recommendations and comprehensive information to enhance visitors' exploration of San Angelo's treasures.
Discover San Angelo was also honored as the "People’s Choice for Best Destination for Arts and Culture," highlighting the destination's vibrant cultural scene. Museums and galleries and performance venues and community-driven art initiatives allows San Angelo to boast about a rich tapestry of artistic expressions that captivate and inspire visitors from near and far.
“San Angelo has been my hometown all my life, and I’ve always been proud to share where I come from for many reasons. These two awards mean a great deal to our City, The Chamber of Commerce, and the Destination Marketing Organization, and when you consider the competition that we were up against, the awards speak volumes to the impact left on people when they visit. It’s been said that you can leave San Angelo, but San Angelo never really leaves you, and being honored with these awards truly embodies that statement,” Jeremy Bartz, Destination Marketing Organization vice president, said in the release.
