SAN ANGELO, Texas — A San Angelo man seeking shelter called the San Angelo Police Department to tell officers he had broken in to the Tom Green County Courthouse early Tuesday morning.

The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office said the call came in to SAPD dispatch around 5:52 a.m. Tuesday. At the same time, alarms inside the courthouse were notifying local law enforcement agencies of the break-in.

SAPD officers and TGCSO deputies found Noe Blanco, 27, inside one of the courtrooms.

Blanco had broken into the courthouse to seek shelter and called SAPD. He was arrested for criminal mischief, criminal trespass and an outstanding parole violation warrant.

The sheriff's office said damage to the courthouse was limited to one window.

Blanco is currently in the Tom Green County Detention Center on a $500 bond.

The investigation remains active.
