SAN ANGELO, Texas — Three people were taken to Shannon Medical Center Wednesday morning after a crash between a Toyota Camry and a Chevrolet Tahoe at Grand Canal Road and US Hwy 277S.

San Angelo Police say witnesses told them the Camry was headed east on Grand Canal Road and the Tahoe was headed north on US 277S.

The Tahoe driver told the SAPD the Camry driver ran the stop sign.

The officer at the scene said he did not have proof the Camry's driver ran the stop sign, but said "they did fail to yield the right-of-way from the stop sign pulling out into the intersection where the Tahoe did actually hit the Camry on the driver's side at about highway speeds."

The Camry had two occupants and the Tahoe had one - all were taken to the hospital for further treatment.

A citation for failure to yield the right-of-way from the stop sign will be issued to the Camry's driver.
