'Sheep on the Shelf' offers scavenger hunt in downtown San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Downtown San Angelo, Inc., is putting a "unique twist" to the popular Elf on the Shelf this year with its "Sheep on the Shelf" game during this month's Downtown Stroll, planned for 5-8 p.m. Thursday.

Sheep will be hidden in participating businesses throughout the downtown area. Find them all and be entered to win: a Sheep Happens t-shirt, a special San Angelo Standard-Times coffee cup, Rose Ceremony card game from The Teacher Store and chocolates from Cowboy-UP Chocolates.

A free trolley service will be available to stroll guests between 5-7p.m. Thursday. The route begins at 5 p.m. at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, 1 Love St.

Here's how to play:

  • Pick up a card from any participating location listed on the stroll map, which will be posted on downtownsanangelo.com Dec. 21.
  • Visit participating locations to find the "Sheep on the Shelf", but do not remove the sheep from its location.
  • Once the sheep is found, verify and collect a sheep sticker from the register area.
  • To be entered for a prize, cards must have a sticker from each participating location.
  • After filling card with stickers, drop it off in the Downtown San Angelo office mail slot, 24 W. Concho Ave.

One winner will be drawn at random Dec. 22 and notified promptly. The prize must be picked up from DTSA, during normal business hours, within 30 days of winning.
